District News

I am pleased to announce that the Chemult Rural Fire Protection District has been awarded two grants from the Oregon State Fire Marshall totaling $113,302. These grants will help protect our community from wild fire by “up staffing” our current personnel with paid summer job funding. In addition we hope to institute a “chipper program” for disposal of brush and vegetation materials in the creation of “Defensible Space” within our jurisdiction. This grant will also provide part time employment during the summer months. Further information regarding employment for these grants will be forthcoming.
